We have a line up of mini and mediums litters expected this summer to fall/winter. We are taking reservations for our master list and will be working with families who have deposits with our program. Any puppies available will be offered to families on our list. Please check out our website to fill out a puppy application as litters are always sold before they are born.
What a stud!
We love our studs here at Patriot’s Day! These handsome men love their jobs and are enthusiastic with a hard work ethic. We are excited to see our first puppies this fall/winter out of Dane and Gunny red and chocolate wonders and that lovely Australian companion personality.
Black and Chocolate and Red Caramel, OH MY!
We have a busy year ahead of us that we are so excited about and looking forward to chunky, sweet babies in black, chocolate, chocolate parti, chocolate phantom and red caramel! We have a few mediums girls, Loretta and Semper, due to have litters this year spring. Celeste and Rainy are expected to have their first litters. Most litters are fully reserved until puppies are born but we will be looking for a Guardians.
Mail Call
Letters From Home “Gunny” has arrived to Patriot’s Day! Getting letters from home was a highlight of the day in the service. Letters were read, carried to be reread and stored into a box to be found decades later. The letter was a lifeline in a time before electronics. Letters From Home Gunny is solid chocolate and will be an up and coming stud from the respected Moonlit Acres in WA. We hope Gunny will be as treasured in a pedigree as Grandma’s letters to Grandpa were treasured in their time.
Gunny was evaluated by Pat Hastings and we are excited to call him ours!
Mini litters expected this winter!
We are super excited to see mini pups from Sugar Daddy this winter! We will be pairing him with Lindy and Sailor for Red, Apricot, Caramel puppies in caramel and white chest marks!
Withdrawing from ALCA
We have decided, after long consideration, to leave the Australian Labradoodle Club of America. We feel that ALAA and WALA best meet the best interests of our breeding program.
I grew up with livestock and stock dogs on a farm and so becoming a breeder of ALD 3 years ago was not outside of my life experiences. Before I opened shop I spent a year researching websites, genetics, clubs and breeders. Naturally I'm drawn to research. Once I opened up shop I took ICB courses, went to Roundtables, traveled to meet other breeders and spends hundreds of hours reading material and looking at dog structure and health testing. In the very beginning of my program, I made it a point to pick only ALCA dogs.
My goal as a breeder of ALD is to make every generation I produce better than the last. Structure, Health and temperament are assessed to see the strengths and weaknesses and then pair breeding stock for compatibility. Now that I have taken ICB courses, met with leading specialists such as Dr. Hutchinson, Dr. Greer, Dr. Bell, Dr. Keller and Pat Hastings my long term goals have changed. I'm looking for a club with:
Transparency
Genetic Understanding
Continued Education
Accountability
Breeder Collaboration
I feel that ALAA and WALA will continue to assist in what I envision for being part of a breeding community.
Continuing Education
I’m always looking for classes and researching information to know as much as possible about our dogs and their wellness. Good Dog just hosted a wonderful webinar with world renowned Dr. Hutchison who is a veterinarian reproductive specialist. What a wonderful way to spend a rainy afternoon! We used Dr. Hutchison for Loretta’s litter this last winter and he was such a joy to work with as he advocates for the importance of quality breeding programs. He also allowed me and my children to watch the TCI and explained the whole process . He is gracious, educational and a leader in his field. Thank you Good Dog and Dr. Hutchison!!
Semper Fidelis
We are looking forward to this amazing repeat breeding with Semper Fidelis and Attention on Deck! These two Australian Labradoodles are just the dream companion dog for the laid back family. Our former families are just raving about trainability and gentleness in the last litter. Oh and they are so striking to boot!
This litter will be born outside of Chicago in our new location and should go home late summer or early fall.
We still have two spaces availabile!
Strike a Pose!
We are expecting striking colors with our Wren and Duke litter. Expected to go home early fall. Our friends at Mandeville Labradoodles have allowed us to use a picture of their black and white beauty, Clementine. We expect lots fo black and white in this pairing and Duke, Great Bridge Labradoodles, and Wren both have white chest marks and so looking forward to white on black in our pups! This litter will be one of our first in our new location outside of Chicago!
We have two spaces still available in this highly anticipated litter!
